Every Thursday a different giant. Next Thursday, September 12, don’t miss the opportunity to dive into the creative world of Raman Djafari, a talented illustrator, animator and filmmaker based in Berlin, Germany, who dazzled us at the 8th edition of Bitbang. His experience was so spectacular that we wanted to bring him back to start this new decade of the festival, and thanks to the Goethe, this time it comes in an online flavor for everyone.
Raman works in both 2D and 3D, creating vibrant images and fragmented narratives that explore honest emotionality and intentional fragility. His unique style brings to life worlds and characters that oscillate between the familiar and the fantastical. Throughout his career, he has directed music videos for globally renowned artists such as Elton John, Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Ashnikko. He has also worked with prestigious clients such as Adult Swim, Medium and The New Yorker. He is currently represented as a director by London-based animation studio BlinkInk.
In this talk, we’ll focus on his career as a music video director, exploring how his background in illustration and design merges with his work in animation and film to create unique visual narratives. Music, a major influence on his projects, allows Raman to move fluidly between atmospheric abstraction and narrative content, making his creations as innovative as they are memorable.
