IN PERSON WORKSHOP
Experimental Stop Motion
With Can Can Club
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
This workshop offers an exquisite collection of experimental animation. Using diverse objects, colors, and materials, each participant will create an animated fragment that will then be combined with the others’ pieces into a collective piece. The final work will also have synchronized musical accompaniment, enhancing the playful and collaborative nature of the experience.
Each participant will receive a guide to prepare their material and, on set, will have at least one hour to develop their stop-motion fragment. In the end, all the fragments will be combined into an animated collage that celebrates shared imagination.
Goals:
- Experiment with the exquisite corpse technique applied to animation.
- Encourage collaboration and collective play in a creative environment.
- Explore stop motion in a free, accessible, and experimental way.
- Create a unique audiovisual work that reflects multiple perspectives.

Can Can Club
Can Can Club is a stop-motion animation studio founded in Buenos Aires in 2010 by Mab and Becho. Since its inception, the studio has been characterized by its artisanal, experimental, and deeply emotional work, with a distinctly animated approach.
Throughout its history, Can Can Club has produced short films and series that have made their mark on the international scene, including Teclópolis, Inercia, The Smallest Man in the World, 2 Little Birds, and My Gut Friend. With these works, the studio participated in and won awards at prominent festivals, such as Annecy—where it won Best Series for 2 Little Birds—Prix Jeunesse, and Cannes, where My Gut Friend received one of the main awards. In addition to its creative projects, Can Can Club has worked for global companies and brands such as Nintendo, Google, Kellogg’s, Dunkin’ Donuts, TikTok, Samsung, Huawei, US Bank, Got Milk, and Spotify, consolidating its expertise in creating visual universes for diverse audiences.
Today, more than a decade after its founding, the studio continues to expand its horizons and share its love for stop motion. Its mission is to build a community, support new generations of animators, and carry the torch of this art form from Argentina to the world.
