WORKSHOP
Introduction to Background Design
By El Sike (@el_sike)
In this workshop we will have an approach to basic fundamentals for the design of backgrounds, developing in each of the four meetings concepts and exercises around composition, staging, perspective, as well as basic notions of color and its impact on the tone of the scene.
We will delve into the importance of visual narrative in the background design and what we can contribute to the story from its construction.
We will also analyze hybrid work modes, learning about and experimenting with analogue+digital techniques, also adding tools from photomontage and 3D.
The idea is to have a theoretical framework and propose the foundations on which to propose some practical exercises and at the same time work on the design of a general scenario throughout the course.
As a complement, we will see practical issues for the internal organization of our files – tips regarding the use of complex masks and non-destructive design -.
