Damien Megherbi

We are honored to have Damien Megherbi with us during BBX thanks to the French Institute of Argentina. Among other things, he will present the case of 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒖𝒆𝒍, one of the series of the moment. It is about the transition from childhood to adolescence and psychological maturity from the point of view of an eleven-year-old boy who writes down all his experiences in a diary.

🔍 Damien Megherbi is co-founder of the production company Les Valseurs (2013) and the animation studio Pulp in 2023. He produced the animated short films: 𝑾𝒊𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍 (Jury Prize at Annecy and César in 2019), 𝑮𝒖𝒂𝒙𝒖𝒎𝒂 (70 awards, including Best Narrative Short Film in Ottawa and Best Animated Short Film at SXSW) and 𝑺𝒕𝒆𝒑 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑹𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓 (shortlisted for (the Oscars in 2021). After noticing Émilie Tronche’s work on social media, she suggested turning the project into a series for TV and social media, including a specific version for TikTok: ̗̀➛ 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒖𝒆𝒍 was launched in March 2024 on Arte, RTVE and 3Cat, as well as on their social channels.

🎃 On October 31 at 6pm there is a talk at @escueladavinci to immerse ourselves in the mind and eyes of this producer who turns everything he sees into gold. In addition, on October 29 we will be able to see 3 chapters of 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒖𝒆𝒍 in the Sala Leonardo Favio movie theater at @cine.gaumont.
