Camila Kater is a director, animator, and screenwriter from São Paulo, Brazil. Her short film *CARNE* (2019) premiered at the Locarno Film Festival, was selected for over 250 festivals, and won more than 95 awards. The film was acquired by *The New York Times* Op-Docs. Camila has directed and animated five music videos based on historic Brazilian recordings, including *Clara Crocodilo* (1980, Arrigo Barnabé), an official selection of the 2026 Annecy Festival.

She holds a Master of Arts degree from the Erasmus Mundus RE:ANIMA program (Belgium, Portugal, and Finland) and a degree in Social Communication from Unicamp, as well as a degree in Film and Television Production from Anglia Ruskin University (Cambridge, UK). She teaches courses at universities and festivals and has been a guest speaker at institutions such as Bauhaus University, the University of Michigan, and CalArts. In 2025, she was featured in the Bloomsbury book *Women and Global Documentary: Practices and Perspectives in the 21st Century*, in a chapter on animated documentary written by Shilyh Warren and Christine Veras. She is currently developing the *CARNE* series, finalizing her next short film, and serving as animation director and animator for the feature film *Ana, en passant* by Fernanda Salgado—a Brazil-Portugal-France co-production distributed by Miyu Distribution.
