This workshop offers an introduction to the world of storyboarding, delving into the fundamentals of visual storytelling. Over four theoretical and practical sessions, participants will explore the fundamentals of visual language, framing, editing, and narrative tools for telling a story in images.
Each participant will develop a personal project, working step by step to construct their own unique scene.

WHO IS IT FOR?
For illustrators, screenwriters, animators, directors, or animation enthusiasts who want to get started creating storyboards or delve deeper into the language of cinema.
Ideal for those looking to add visual narrative to their projects or learn how to tell stories with images.
Participants can come from anywhere in the world.

THURSDAYS, June 19, June 26, July 3, and July 10.

REQUIREMENTS
Ideally, you should have basic drawing skills. Have a simple story or scene in mind to work on.
GABRIEL FERMANELLI
Freelance animator and director, he has collaborated with studios such as Punga, Ronda, Le Cube, and Plenty, among others. His focus is on developing character animation for commercials and branding for FOX, Cartoon Network, and Discovery Kids, always seeking to incorporate a personal and authentic style into his projects. He has also taught at the Universidad del Cine and given a series of workshops in Buenos Aires, Ecuador, and Guatemala.

CONTENTS
Lesson 1 – Framing / Editing
Types of shots, composition, visual language, continuity, and editing.
Practice: Exercise on framing, camera placement, and concepts.
Lesson 2 – Thumbnails / Let’s Tell Something
Quick sketches as a narrative tool. How to organize an idea.
Practice: Developing thumbnails to visualize the story and the development of scenes.
Class 3 – Introduction to Animatic / Timeline
What is an animatic, pacing, and editing. Basic tools.
Practice: Develop a scene and prepare it for placement on a timeline.
Class 4 – Feedback
Review and sharing of projects. Feedback, questions, and next steps.
