Sonia is a stop-motion animation director, producer, and animator.

She has professionally directed three short films—*Txotxongiloa*, *Malkoak*, *Plazer bat*, and *Onena Ura da*—as well as several commercials using this animation technique.

She also has a background in Environmental and Forest Chemistry, allowing her to merge audiovisual production with sustainability.

She was nominated for a 2024 Goya Award for her first professional animated short film, *Txotxongiloa*, and was a candidate for a Goya Award in 2026 for her third short film, *Plazer bat*. She has won over 40 awards for her short films and achieved more than 200 selections at prestigious festivals, both national and international.
